There are many hurdles to weight loss, find out how to lose
weight safely and not become obsessed with it. Obsession only brings more
problems in the long run and hinder your weight loss goals. Many times it may be
difficult to figure out if you are obsessed or not but the information below
should help you to decipher whether what you have is an obsession or simple a
very strong will to shed extra pounds
1.
Do you constantly research weight loss
information on the internet, in books or any other medium you can find but
never actually tried to implement any of the strategies you have found from
your endless research? Most persons who are trying to implement a weight loss
regimen have from time to time or at one point or the other done some research
on what they should do, how they should implement the strategies etc, and after
some time they usually adapt some of the principles they have learned and try
to see if it would prove successful for them, even if they stop after one week
of implement one measure or the other. But if you never implement and just
research endlessly for years you may have an obsession with weight loss.
2.
Do you spend most of your time thinking about
weight loss and how you would look once you have achieved this goal? Now
thinking things over is the first step to actually getting started and
following through on any plans you have made, so it is important to take some
time to plan in your head or even record that plan on paper so that you know
exactly how you should go about executing those ideas. The problem however
arises when you take every waking moment to dedicate to any particular issue,
this may constitute an obsession rather than having a strong determination to
get through things.
3.
Do you work out excessively maybe 3 or more hours
a day seven days per week? Now some persons may have to adapt a strict, very
rigid exercising routine because their job requires them to, for example
persons who are athletes or persons training for a marathon or maybe even a
celebrity trying to shed drastic weight for a movie role, or something to that
effect, but if you are in neither of those categories then working out that
rigorously may constitute an obsession rather than sheer determination.
Sometimes the line between a strong will and an obsession is
very thin but if you find that your intense activities are getting the better
of you and preventing you from being in control of yourself then chances are
you may have an obsession. if any consumes you then you would be defeating your
purpose of losing weight, since it is never in ones best interest to approach
anything with too much of rigidity. Make
a conscious effort to assess yourself and determine what is the basis behind
you trying to shed those extra pounds and if you realize that you are just
determined, then congratulations many persons wish they had your enthusiasm. On
the other hand if after analyzing your situation you realize that you may be obsessed
on losing weight then I urge you to take every step to conquer this obsession
as it is never a healthy option for anyone, and getting over it would make you
lose the weight more successful.
